A family shop, since 1996.
Maple & Stone started in a Westport garage with a belt sander and a stubborn idea: do one thing, and do it by hand. Three generations later, the idea has not changed.
Tom Reilly Sr. started sanding floors in 1996, mostly for builders on the Post Road. His son joined after trade school, and his grandson after him. The tools got better. The standard did not move.
We work out of a shop on Post Road East now, but the jobs are still the same: old floors brought back, new floors laid right, and the occasional repair that nobody else can match. We turn down work we are not right for, and we say so.
Most of our jobs come from a neighbor or a repeat customer. That is the only metric we track. If the next street over keeps calling, we are doing it right.

How we run the shop.
We do the work ourselves
No subcontractors, no day labor. The crew that quotes the job is the crew that sands it.
Wood is the whole job
We do not paint, plumb, or tile. Hardwood is all we do, and depth beats breadth here.
Dust belongs in the vacuum
HEPA containment on every sanding job. You should not be finding finish dust in July.
Fixed quotes, no surprises
You get a number, not a range. If the scope changes, you hear it from us first.
